Maybe You Haven't Heard.......

...but Bergman's Bruisers are currently accepting modeling offers. We have but only a couple of demands while being on set- our milk must stay ice cold in sippy cups, Chick fil-A chicken nuggets with honey mustard and Polynesian sauce, peanut M&M's, and chips with salsa.

.Blessed.

I grew up with a hallway much like this one. Lined with pictures of the past and present. It didn't mean as much to me then as it does now. I was adding more pictures to the hall tonight and I was overtaken by the blessings I have been given. This hall chronicles the great family I grew up with, my marriage of almost seven years, two healthy pregnancies, and two more healthy, beautiful boys. Walking this hallway is a daily affirmation of all I have to be grateful for.

I wonder, what pictures will be hanging in a year or three years from now? What new faces will be added? All I know is I have plenty more hall space for plenty more faces and blessings. And if we outgrow this hallway.....we'll move.

Mr. Mo' Money Santa

No, Gavin wasn't constipated in this picture. He just wasn't feelin' Santa this year.

I know it's a little early to make visits to Santa, but he looked lonely at the mall and Harrison felt like telling him his long Christmas wish-list. This is the first year Harrison is aware of Christmas and all the joy that the holiday brings. He jumped on Santa's lap and started talking....

Santa: What do you want for Christmas?

Harrison: toy story bideo (video) game

Santa: Anything else? (bad question!)

Harrison: a Indiana Jones toy

Santa: Anything else?

Harrison: And a Batman toy.

Santa: Goodness, anything else?

Harrison: Umm, mmm....

Me: Okay, that's enough. Santa, really, are your elves making you money this year or what??

What's Santa thinking? Anything else?!? How much does one child need? Crazy, Crazy Santa.

Last year, in Washington, D.C., Gavin loved Santa and it was Harrison who was scared. This is why you find me also sitting on Santa's lap, as a barrier between Harrison and Santa.

Good Choices

We watched Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs the other night during family movie night. These two characters fall in love and at one point are kissing (for a really long time!) Always entertained by my son's perception of things I ask......

Me: Harrison, what are they doing?!

Harrison: They're makin' gooood choices!

Tell Me How You Really Feel....

I found this in the toilet this morning, Dr. James Dobson Bringing Up Boys. I would like to think this book brings lots of insight into raising my boys but clearly Gavin doesn't agree.

I don't remember in the book Dr. Dobson warning about the proximity of the book to the toilet.

Boy Moms Rock

Maybe it's that I think boys sometimes get the short end of the stick.

Or maybe it's motivational for me to see this is print. As a reminder of how blessed I am.

Or better yet, maybe I do think there is something special about raising boys in all their guts, glory, and roughness.

All I know is I love these shirts and lots more at the boymomdesigns

and so I had to have them.

Bruisers Do.....As In HairDo

I call Gavin's Do a 'Fauxhawk' Soon mothers will be taking their sons to Supercuts and asking for the 'Gavin' *insert laughter here*

Really, are these not the most adorable Batman jammies?

I made my first attempt at giving my Bruisers' their haircut. I've watched/helped my Mom do it and thought I was up for the challenge. You may look at my boys and think, 'Challenge? What challenge? It's a #3 buzz on one and trimming some curls on another!'

All I can tell you is it's not that easy. Harrison squirms like he's got ants in his pants and Gavin acts like each snip physically hurts. Steve witnessed the last haircut and was shocked at the efforts made by my mom and I to keep them still. (Yes, Harrison is almost 4 and two months ago was Steve's first interaction with a haircut. When I point this injustice out to Steve he tells me not to be jealous of his crazy-mad skills of being able to get out of all the 'unpleasant side effects' of parenting.)
